    Truly this is scary stuff.
    I have returned!

    It's back to business :P

Tomorrow morning will be Katsu work followed by box hunting. Once elusive boxes have been slain and gathered from reputable feeding grounds such as "recycling bin behind McD's" and "ABC stores" I will contrstuct them anew. Whereupon they shall be filled with my stuff.  Eventually there will be a truck gathered and sleep slept.

Dawn breaks with a new day. This day will be Wednesday. Upon Wednesday, the male of my own blood will help me pack said delivery vehicle of efficientness. A couch cleaner shall come, clean, and begone. After the second to last item of said couch is loaded, the last, Roxie, shall be loaded as well. From there the adventure begins! There will be driving and journeying across plains, over river, and through vast wilderness to the shop where Roxie will rest and recoupe with those Cycles of Wayne. The journey shall continue onward, over the insignificant mountain and into the heartland of cow farmers and truck herders. Here is where I'll make my home.

    It's alive!! It's alive!! (histortainment.org that is)
    Histortainment.org is live!!

Also have e-mails going with the site, such as pollock@ (including such past favorites as admin and contact as well).

Right now there's just a fancy collage, but soon, soon my dear readers there will be more!!!

*ahem* Business cards are also in the works. There will be plain ones coming up shortly and then some kinda crazy pop-up card. You'll just have to see to believe. Plain=logo and info. Logo can be viewed in bottom left of website's collage.

I'm in debate about posting it on facebook until it has something of value but to at least share it with a few friends (instead of a lost post to 382 friends, really? 382?)

    YAY!!

P.S. And if you were curious, yes .net and .com forward you to .org, but not .info.

I think I killed new toy....
I saw the Wolfram Alpha tutorial and got too excited/ambitious. Wanted to know: "size of England compared to a U.S. state" or "what state is the same size as England?" And it couldn't. I am sad.

But this "size of England compare size of U.S." got me a semblance of an answer:

    | visual | ratios | | comparisons
    United States | | 39.3 | 1 | 3834% larger
    United Kingdom | | 1 | 0.0254 | 97.46% smaller

Somehow need to think of a witty remark that involves the above comic and Ops (of Katus)'s history of never finding the Diedrichs...

    Tweeter
So I'm on tweeter now... I mainly did because I was curious what Katsu was going to do with the tweeter account. Apparently as Ops, we were the last ones with the password to it. Now I'm getting a craving for a new phone... or at least unlimited texts... tempting...

In the meantime this very horrid piece has been circling facebook:
    http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/22/opinion/22dowd.html
Don't read it; it'll make you hurt, literally. It's written poorly and the author is not that bright. But I did love this tidbit:
"[article author]: Would Shakespeare have tweeted?

BIZ [twitter creator]: Brevity’s the soul of wit, right?"

And because I know you care, my username is Kaiotte, big surprise.

The discussions that anime night yields...
There are two universes. They share the same personalities:
True Heart Bear - Charles Xavier
    Noble Heart Horse - Magneto
    Brave Heart Lion - Wolverine
    Grumpy Bear - Rogue
    Bright Heart Raccoon - Beast
    Friend Bear - Jubilee
    Love-A-Lot Bear - Storm
Bedtime Bear - Miss Marvel (very wrong, I know)
    Birthday Bear - Forge
    Cheer Bear - Jean Grey
    Good Luck Bear - Bishop
    Funshine Bear - Gambit
Loyal Heart Dog/Tenderheart Bear - Cyclops
    Wish Bear - Angel
Swift Heart Rabbit - Shadow Cat
    Lotsa Heart Elephant - Colossos
    Playful Heart Monkey - Morph
    Hugs & Tugs - Iceman & Pyro
    Cozy Heart Penguin - Snowbird
    Gentle Heart Lamb - Leech
    Proud Heart Cat - Quicksilver
Treat Heart Pig - The Blob
    ------------------------------------------------
And now that we've finished Xenosaga it's my choice for the next anime installment will either be Area 88 or Irresponsible Captain Taylor... I'm impressed how well we're doing with our anime night. So far we've finished Baccano, Melancholy Life of Haruki something, Xenosaga, and we're 1/3 into Monster.

It's like standing on a cliff, looking over the edge.
Over the cliff is  my depression.

I have depression.  Regretfully it doesn't seem to be something that just "goes away" entirely.  Like an alcoholic, once you've experienced it, it's always a possible future.  It's just a matter of not taking that drink, right?  When depression takes over I can barely get myself out of bed and dressed in the morning.  The act is just too much work.  It's hard to get anything done, whether work or pleasure.  It becomes a chore to do things like eat, call friends, or have fun.  I get suicidal thoughts without being suicidal.  That's what depression does.

Currently it's been hard to get out of bed, because I've been physically tired and my body just wants an extra hour or two of sleep.  That's usually because I starved it of sleep the night or two nights before.  I haven't been hanging out with my friends as much as I'd like this semester because of all the homework I have.  Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays lead to prolong time between breakfast (7am) and lunch (3pm).  But that's because of classes and me being lazy about taking snacks.

So many things right now I'm experiencing that I usually experience during depression.  This semester it's been for different reasons (stupid freaking 17cr.).  I just find it fascinating really.  There's a more certain amount of control than if I were depressed.  Depression runs (and ruins) your life.  I'm still in charge.  The past week or so, I've been adjusting my schedule for more mental health moments of hanging out with friends and playing video games and pleasure readings.  I know that if I push myself too hard I could fall into that pit, which is why I stepped back from school work the other week.  I'm finding a balance, a knowledge that I'll hopefully keep for the rest my academic life.  But I'm not depressed and I'm making the choices.

    ------------------------------------
Mostly my lj has become friends-only posts.  I'm leaving this public because I feel depression is a demon that resides in many of my friends.  I feel people don't talk about it as much.  I feel like it should be more out in the open.  One of my shipmates once asked what depression was, because he never really understood it.  My shipmates are highly intelligent, generally retired, men who have experienced the world.  Understanding depression shouldn't be restricted to the psychologists.

This is a rant, be warned.
It happens about twice a year that the priest mentions how the sanctity of marriage resides in a heterosexual relationship.

Today it wasn't even it's own sentence. It was just listed in a sentence about marriage in general. And marriage only had one sentence. The homily was focused on how the body, according to St. Paul, is on loan from God and is a vessel that should be treated with respect and one should not participate in physical immorality.

My congregation gets more up in arms about abortion than it does about marriage. I also find this interesting because in the Catholic marriage in order for your marriage to "count" as a real marriage, both parties have to be Confirmed (or in a liberal church and as with my parents only one person has to be Confirmed). So even Joe-shmo the bio male married to Jane-shmo the bio female are not considered married in the Catholic Church.

After all that it does get me more upset that my church puts time and effort and donations* into trying to make abortion illegal. Yes, abortion is murder, that's a duh. You wouldn't be getting an abortion if you didn't want a baby, that's the whole point. Yes, I hate abortion. But I don't think it'll make much of an impact to make it illegal. It'll just cause more suffering. I personally believe that the solution would be in education and in works, not legal changes that leave it to the hands of the government. I also think it's just a lazy way of thinking. I think it would show more conviction if those involved were investing in ministering to people at large and creating educational programs and talking with people. Instead of just ignoring that group and essentially going over their heads. I would rather live in a land where murder and theft is legal and does not occur than in a land where it is illegal and is pervasive.

So yeah, it hurts when it's mentioned that homosexuality is really a call to chastity and the strengthening of the soul and a call to mastering of the self in a higher level than those of the heterosexuals who are called to get married. (Yes, it's true, go read the Catechism.) As opposed to homosexuality just being... me and letting me get married and have a family that celebrates in the Eucharist.

But it only happens about twice a year and it's never the central topic of the homily. (Homily being the 5-20minutes a priest gets in mass to talk about the readings.) And it's not worth leaving the Church or this congregation over. Although it does make me wonder what the predominately gay church in DC will be hearing about today in their priest's homily.

*For the unfamiliar: Every Sunday a basket or bowl or multiples of these are passed around for you to put money in. On almost all Sundays (for larger congregations it feels like every Sunday) this is done twice. The first one, that happens every Sunday is for general upkeep of the church and her services. The second is geared towards something: flowers for the altar, food for the homeless, mission trips, a visitor came and asked for money for their work, etc. Today's second collection was for the group that's working to make abortion illegal. There's no pressure to give money. You just keep passing the basket or bowl. If you don't believe in the visitor's mission or that we need pretty flowers for Easter or for a group to make abortion illegal, then you don't donate. It's that simple.

It's about taking MLK Jr Day and doing something with it. I know most (most? all?) have interesting job-schedules and probably don't have Monday off but there are things that may work into your time schedule.
